1. Information we collect
We collect the information you provide when you create a collector account, place a bid, or consign a piece. This includes your name, email address, phone number, country of residence, and, where required by law, identification documents verified through our onboarding desk.
We also collect technical data that your browser sends automatically when you use the platform, including device type, IP address, approximate location, and pages viewed during a session.
2. How we use information
Information is used to operate the auction platform, verify bidder identity, process Ta2meen deposits and settlements, publish catalogue entries you consign, and respond to enquiries you send through the contact form or directly to a specialist.
We send transactional messages (bid outcomes, deposit releases, settlement notices) by default. Marketing messages are sent only with your explicit opt in, and you can withdraw consent at any time from the account preferences page.
3. Bidding and transaction data
Every bid, withdrawal, and settlement is recorded against your account for as long as we are required to retain it under applicable financial regulations. Your bidding history is never published publicly, and we do not sell bid data. Aggregate and anonymised figures (for example, average hammer price by category) may be shared in editorial or research contexts.
4. Authentication and provenance records
Where a lot requires third party authentication, the minimum information needed to complete that work is shared with the accredited lab or atelier. Provenance records attached to a lot are retained in perpetuity. On resale through the platform, the record transfers to the new registered owner.
7. Data retention
Account and transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable financial and tax regulations, typically seven years after the last activity. Provenance records tied to a physical lot are retained indefinitely to support the lifetime authenticity guarantee.
8. Your rights
You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, subject to the retention requirements above. You may also object to specific processing activities or ask us to port your data to another provider in a structured format.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us through the contact page or write directly to the privacy desk at privacy@thedigitalcurator.com. We respond to all requests within 30 days.
